China’s self-developed aero engines will make their most extensive overseas debut at the 2025 Dubai Airshow, as Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC) unveils 19 power products across five exhibition zones, spotlighting military, commercial, and gas turbine technologies.
Centered on the theme "Chinese Hearts, Flying with the World," AECC’s debut will feature military and commercial engines as well as gas turbines, including the Taihang turbofan and AES100 engines.
The airshow, set to kick off on November 17 local time, marks the most comprehensive overseas exhibition of China’s homegrown aero engines to date, with 19 power products displayed across five zones.
A highlight of the showcase is the Taihang high-thrust turbofan engine, now in mass deployment across multiple advanced fighter jets, a symbol of the rapid progress in China’s aero-engine industry in recent years.
Among the exhibits is the compact KP16-3D, a 3D-printed lightweight micro turbojet engine delivering 160 kilograms of thrust while weighing just 20 kilograms. It is designed for unmanned aerial vehicles and other versatile platforms.
For its first appearance at the Dubai Airshow, AECC is also targeting the needs of Middle Eastern and African markets with a tailored portfolio of products.
"To meet the demand of Middle Eastern and African markets, we have brought targeted products. For example, the 1,100-kilowatt turboshaft engine equipped with an integrated multifunctional anti-sand system. This feature is particularly valuable in regions such as the Middle East and Africa, especially North Africa, where sand and dust conditions are common," said Yang Lei from AECC.
