The world’s first 150,000DWT smart aquaculture vessel “Guoxin No.1 2-1” has been delivered for operation. The 210,000DWT ammonia fuel-powered bulk carrier of CMB, a Belgian company, is equipped with engines whose core components are made in Qingdao. Qingdao-made atmospheric and oceanic monitoring lidar products sell well in Europe, South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia among other markets. Over the years, a number of equipment of strategic importance has been unveiled in Qingdao, and Qingdao-made maritime equipment has been well sought after at home and abroad.
In regard to vessels powered by green fuels, Qingdao-based companies never cease to tackle key problems arising in zero-carbon and low-carbon fuel application technology and industry chains to work out solutions to carbon emission reduction of vessels. In regard to fishery equipment, the world’s first 100,000DWT smart aquaculture vessel “Guoxin No.1”, the globe’s first 150,000DWT smart aquaculture vessel “Guoxin No.1 2-1” have been successively delivered in Qingdao for operation, and “Guoxin No.1 2-2” is about to join the array. The three vessel will yield a combined total of more than 10,000 tons of high-quality sea fish, and help expedite the 6th revolution in China’s marine culture. In regard to maritime electronic information technology and deep-sea exploitation, Qingdao provides great support for businesses to accelerate research and development of intelligent maritime observation and detection equipment such as the new-generation stereoscopic monitoring system and underwater robots, and supports joint efforts between colleges and universities, and central SOEs to build the Coordinated Innovation and Research Institute for Maritime Engineering Equipment, in a bid to race to control a commanding point in deep-sea exploitation.
