On July 21, the list of chain master enterprises in Qingdao’s “10+1” innovation-oriented industrial system was officially unveiled, comprising 62 Qingdao-based enterprises that excel in their respective industries.

The 62 enterprises consist of both legacy listed companies such as Haier, Hisense and Tsingtao Beer, and core players in the emerging sectors like BOE, GoerTek and AInnovation. Meanwhile, a number of industry-leading enterprises introduced to Qingdao in recent years, such as Wuyuan Semiconductor, are also included.

The tiered business cultivation program is among the seven campaigns launched by Qingdao to establish a new industrial system. In accordance with implementation plans, Qingdao will build up the strength of chain master enterprises, support chain master enterprises in playing a greater role in investment attraction, and industrial ecology construction across industrial chains. To cultivate small and medium-sized enterprises, Qingdao will strive to be home to 55, 20 and 280 single-product champion, unicorn, and specialized, refined, differential and innovative (SRDI) enterprises, respectively by 2027.
