China's first national cultural digital assets trading platform was launched in Hangzhou, the capital city of east China's affluent Zhejiang Province, on Friday.

As the sole pilot project of its kind designate by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Yangtze River Delta Cultural Digital Assets Trading Platform is now open for cultural digital asset trading nationwide.

On its inaugural day, 45 categories of cultural digital assets were listed and traded, including the digital assets of a Beijing Opera film series, a database for appreciation and analysis of ethnic musical works collected from regions on the Silk Road, and a database of resources of traditional Chinese music. The platform recorded a trading volume exceeding 21 million yuan (about 2.9 million U.S. dollars) on Friday -- the first day of its operation.
