The First Global Vehicle to Grid (V2G) Forum and Launching Ceremony of Establishment of V2G Industrial Alliance was held in Longhua District, Shenzhen on May 21.

Participants discussed leading-edge topics including the integration of such key technologies as digital energy, V2G and new-type electric infrastructures, in hopes of facilitating the construction of the pilot demonstration area for the integrated development of digital technologies and energy industries. The signing and launching ceremony was held in the main forum.

The People’s Government of Longhua District inked strategic cooperation agreements with the team of academician Ouyang Minggao and LynkVertx Technology Co., Ltd., an incubation company, aimed at enabling scientific and technological achievements to come to fruition.

The People’s Government of Longhua District and V2G companies have entered into cooperation agreements, under which the involved companies and projects after completion will bolster the industry-university-research-application cooperation in the integration of NEVs and new-type electric systems.

It merits attention that the V2G Industrial Alliance in the Greater Bay Area, jointly initiated by the People’s Government of Longhua District and academician Ouyang Minggao, was established in the forum. The alliance will further stretch the development model featuring “governmental guidance, support from think tanks, industry collaboration, coordination among enterprises, boost the development of V2G in an innovative manner in the Greater Bay Area, set a global demonstration benchmark for V2G and write a brilliantly new chapter in the high-quality development of digital energy industries through cross-domain and cross-region coordination among innovation resources.

With the theme of “Energy Digital Interconnection Creates A Better Future for V2G”, the event comprised one main forum and two parallel forums. Against the backdrop of a new round of energy revolution driven by the goal of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality”, the massive application of V2G, an important achievement resulting from the sound development of new energy power generation and NEVs, will lead to a new round of upgrade in pertinent industries and pave a solid foundation for fulfilling the new energy security strategy and the goal of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality”.

Many leaders and experts attended the activities, including Zheng Hongbo, member of the standing committee of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC and member of the CPC Committee of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Ouyang Minggao, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor at Tsinghua University and member of the standing committee of the CPPCC, Wang Yi, member of the standing committee of the NPC and vice chairman of National Expert Committee on Climate Change, Lei Weihua, vice secretary of the CPC Committee of Longhua District, governor of Longhua District, Yu Jing, deputy director and member of the CPC Committee of Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Xie Hong, deputy general manager of Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau Co., Ltd. under China Southern Power Grid, Xu Zhibin, an officer in Longhua District Government, Song Yonghua, member of Academia European, member of Royal Academy of Engineering and president of University of Macao and Chen Yusen, senior research fellow and professor at TNO, Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research.

Reportedly, Longhua District, where the forum took place, has pioneered the integration of digital technology and energy industry, aims to facilitate in-depth integration of the two with digital empowerment. Moreover, it has taken the lead in China in proposing the construction of a demonstration area for the integration of digital technologies and energy industries where vigorous efforts will be made to establish a “1+2+2” new energy industry cluster system with digital energy at the core and integrating power supply, power grid, load and storage and to explore a new path for new-type energy security guarantee and economic development boosted by green energy with the characteristics of Longhua District.

Longhua District had made the pioneering move to print, issue and implement the Longhua District Action Plan of Constructing the Pilot Demonstration Area for the Integration of Digital Technologies and Energy Industries (2022-2025). Looking into the future, Longhua District will build a digital energy transaction market which will keep a foothold in the district, offer services citywide, cater to the Greater Bay Area and extend its services throughout China, help transform energy industries towards the higher-end of value chains and build new growth poles for economic development in Longhua and even the entire city. Longhua has put in place sound infrastructures for V2G and taken the lead in building and operating the first demonstration V2G station for charging in residential communities or commercial areas in the Greater Bay Area. The project has been successfully involved in the response regulation and control for the demand side of Shenzhen virtual power plant, achieving satisfactory results.
