Giant pandas, known for their endearing and often solitary nature, occasionally exhibit an unexpected and playful behavior that has fascinated researchers and nature enthusiasts alike.

One such delightful spectacle is the sight of three giant panda cubs born last year chasing after magpies for fun. This playful interaction between pandas and magpies showcases the panda's charming and curious side, revealing a glimpse of their more playful instincts amid their predominantly docile demeanor.

Footage recently released by the Qinling Giant Panda Research Center in Xian City of northwest China's Shaanxi Province shows that some magpies are dexterously bouncing and flying around on the ground and among the branches, making the baby pandas chase from place to place clumsily but fail to catch the magpies in the end.

However, magpies are seen treating the grow-ups totally different.

Footage taken back in March this year shows that two magpies are trying to pluck a giant panda's fur, irritating the giant panda which quickly got up and drove away the two magpies.

According to experts, these magpies pull the hair of adult giant pandas mainly for building their own nests.
