Seeking “green energy” from the sea, Qingdao moves faster to build wind and PV power projects 发布日期:2024/12/25 来源:International daily 打印

The Powerchina offshore PV project adjacent to Aoshan Bay in Jimo District, Qingdao recently garnered official approval, marking the first offshore PV project in Qingdao. With a total investment of RMB10.2 bln, the planned 1.15 million kw pile foundation-type PV power generation project is intended to introduce such programs across the new energy industry chain as PV modules, system integration, energy storage, and new energy R&D.

In addition to offshore PV power generation, offshore wind power, another important new offshore-energy, is also prioritized in Qingdao. Between Daguan Island and Xiaoguan Island in Qingdao, the construction of the 20 megawatt pilot demonstration project for marine energy integration, Shandong Province’s first marine floating wind power technology project, is in full swing, further adding green energy in Qingdao. By the end of the first half of this year, the installed clean energy and renewable energy capacity accounted for more than 60% of the total, with electricity generated from renewable energy gaining 30% from the year earlier.

In accordance with coordinated arrangements of Shandong provincial energy departments, Qingdao will screen out five new locations for offshore wind power, which can contribute 13 million kw of installed capacity. The deployment of these projects will dramatically improve Qingdao’s capacity of supplying marine energy, and enable related industry chains to gain strength in a faster manner.  (Wang Tao)
