The 2024 Laoshan Red Leaf Festival and the winter tourism season were launched in the Laoshan scenic area, Qingdao, on Nov 16. Featured as a top place nationally to view autumn foliage, Laoshan scenic area is a breathtaking sight with its misty peaks, rugged terrain, and a sky filled with red leaves.

Every early winter, more than 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares) of red leaves transform the entire mountain forest into a sea of red. Here, visitors can savor unique local delicacies and fulfill their social media needs.

This year's red leaf festival focuses on exploring red leaf culture, with an emphasis on enhancing the quality of tourism services. The festival aims to develop more engaging products and experiences, allowing visitors to experience the unique charm of Laoshan culture.

The winter tourism season at Laoshan scenic area will run until Feb 28. This leisure season includes over 100 activities, integrating winter tourism, New Years, rural customs, commerce and shopping, gourmet food, cultural and sports entertainment, boutique homestays, and other cultural tourism resources. The goal is to create new cultural tourism consumption scenes that are visually appealing, fun, enjoyable, and delicious, ensuring that the winter tourism market remains vibrant and exciting.

The opening ceremony announced the activities of this cultural tourism leisure season, including the top 10 tourist routes. Visitors can choose a route to explore Laoshan, where they can enjoy the magnificent scenery and tasting authentic local cuisine, and climb high to enjoy the view and welcome the New Year.
