Since the beginning of this year, cultural tourism in Qingdao has been booming, and a range of featured events such as Qingdao Comedy Festival, “Laoshan Mountain in Autumn” cultural tourism and recreation festival, Qiaojiawa Food Carnival, have provided new means to shore up cultural and tourism consumption. As a result, Qingdao has jumped to fame in cultural tourism.

The first Qingdao Comedy Festival, which was held in the historic urban area, made itself known outside of fixed circle. During the comedy festival, the neighborhood of Zhongshan Road has welcomed a total of about 2.2 million Chinese and foreign tourist, with a maximum of 343,700 tourists on a single day. Among more than 60 outstanding performances, tickets for a performance were sold out as fast as three seconds. The 38th China Daze Mountain Grape Festival, a cultural tourism event that concluded at the end of October, attracted more than 200,000 tourists to pluck grapes and travel in merely the National Day holiday. The cultural tourism activity on grapes in Daze Mountain generated more than RMB1.2 mln in revenue. The ongoing 6th “Laoshan Mountain in Autumn” cultural tourism and recreation season has launched a slew of well-received events such as watching stars on Laoshan Mountain.  (Ma Xiaoting)
