The Haihe Road hydrogen station, Qingdao's first commercially operated hydrogen refueling station, recently opened for business in the hydrogen energy demonstration park of Sinopec Qingdao Refining & Chemical Co Ltd in Qingdao West Coast New Area.

The opening of the hydrogen station marks a historic breakthrough for commercial hydrogen stations in Qingdao, providing effective hydrogen support for over 100 hydrogen-powered buses in Qingdao and making refueling easier for hydrogen demonstration vehicles entering and exiting the city.

Operated by Qingdao Refining & Chemical, the Haihe Road hydrogen station is also China's first commercially operated hydrogen refueling station qualified to provide hydrogen to public vehicles, built and independently operated by a petrochemical production enterprise on commercial land. 

Focusing on the future energy transition, Qingdao Refining & Chemical is keeping pace with technological advancements. The company has accelerated the development of seawater electrolysis hydrogen production technology projects and promoted projects such as floating photovoltaics and green electricity to green hydrogen, aiming to enable Qingdao's hydrogen vehicles and hydrogen application scenarios to use zero-carbon green hydrogen as soon as possible.
