The 2024 9th Architecture MasterPrize, one of the most prestigious architecture awards in the world, recently announced the list of winners. Urban designs of the Qingdao TOD No. 1 project won the WINNER award in the category of Urban Planning, and previously clinched the gold prize for “urban planning (under construction) in the 2024 Urban Design & Architecture Design.

Situated at the geometric center of Qingdao’s urban area, the Qingdao TOD No. 1 project (the neighborhood of Qingdao Railway Station), covers an area of about three square kilometers and serves as an important node to connect southern and northern urban areas. The project is designed to build a demonstration area in the Shandong Pilot Zone for green, low-carbon and high-quality development, a demonstration area in a smart city featuring unmanned systems across all spaces, as well as a globally advanced and domestically first-class eco-friendly smart city in the future.

Since its launching in 2022, the Qingdao TOD No. 1 project upholds international perspectives and professional standards, works hard to build a framework for controlled planning in a scientific way, and seeks to lead the construction of a world-class urban area with high-caliber planning and designs.
