According to the newly-released Qingdao Action for the Development of Audio-Visual Electronics (2024-2027), Qingdao will take the four years to build a first-class R&D and manufacturing base for audio-visual electronic products in China and a core area of the audio-visual industrial cluster for smart life with global competitiveness, and strives to generate a market size of RMB250 bln in the audio-visual electronics industry.

In regard to industrial development priorities, Qingdao will leverage its industrial strength to seek breakthroughs in featured and competitive products such as laser display, commercial display and near-to-eye display, work on standardized products and technologies in niche markets, and build a modern system for audio-visual electronics. As indicated in the plan, Qingdao will scale up production of such competitive products as 4K/8k ultra-high-definition TV sets and VR terminals, build a supply system for core components and parts, reinforce associated industries of high-definition chips and display modules, and work on large audio-visual application models. Furthermore, Qingdao will work faster to make breakthroughs in core parts such as the display terminal SoC and image quality chips, promote independent R&D of laser devices and light resistant display diaphragms, and accelerate efforts to forge a self-supporting, safe and reliable industrial chain for audio-visual electronics with global competitiveness.  (Sun Xin)
