Qingdao, Shandong province has in recent years attached great importance to the development of the ship and marine engineering industry.

In the development of the Qingdao West Coast New Area, a marine economy powerhouse, there is a scientific layout in areas such as ship design, manufacturing, engines, and fuel supply systems. Through continuous nurturing and development, a complete industrial chain has formed for new energy-powered ships.

The Haixi Bay Ship and Marine Engineering Industrial Base in the area have gathered more than 50 shipbuilding and marine engineering enterprises, including China Offshore Oil Engineering, Bohai Shipbuilding, and Marine Petroleum, forming a shipbuilding industry cluster centered on shipbuilding and marine engineering manufacturing, with supporting industries and technological research and development growing in sync.
