The 16th Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival and First China (Qingdao) International Marine Sports Meeting would be held in Qingdao from September 6 till September 23.

As an innovative part of the Qingdao International Sailing Week and Marine Festival, the international marine sports meeting, under the theme of “Carrying Forward Olympic Games in Qingdao, China’s Sailing City and Famous City for Sports”, is designed to put up an international exchange platform for marine sports. Integrating marine sports, international events, international exchanges and industrial cooperation, the sports meeting will highlight prominent sports, key events and international participation. More than 30 events in seven categories, namely, sailing, marine sports, fashionable sand beach sports, exchanges on Olympic sailing culture, cultural activities and ceremonies, marine industry and mass popularization of sailing, would be launched, including motor-boating, paddle boarding, powered surfboarding, offshore rowing, kayaking, beach volleyball and sepa takraw. The meeting is intended to further Qingdao’s influence in terms of sports and facilitate the development of Qingdao’s and even the global marine sports, thus contributing its share to building the development belt for marine sports across the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road.
