Qingdao has launched a course of action to accelerate the innovation of marine technology, expanding its international influence as a rising center for global communication in marine industries in Shandong province.

With technological innovation, Qingdao can better facilitate its opening up in order to participate in international cooperation in marine affairs.

This action plan attaches importance to eight specific industries based on the city's advantages, including abundant resources and a strong industrial base. It aims to make Qingdao a pioneering ocean city, featuring intelligence, greenness, openness and safety.

According to the action plan, Qingdao will develop ocean-oriented platforms for high-level innovation over the next two years and develop at least 100 key technologies by introducing high-quality talents and cutting-edge enterprises related to marine research and development.

The ocean plays a significant role in Qingdao's development of industries such as shipping, trade and finance. It allows the city to more easily carry out international communications in marine affairs and contributes to the development of marine industries throughout China.
