On July 23, the 2024 ASEAN-China (Qingdao) Event of Economic and Trade Cooperation and People-to-People Exchanges was held in Qingdao with the tagline "New Quality, New Journey, Moving Forward Together." Diplomatic envoys posted in China from ASEAN countries, representatives from chambers of business and associations and entrepreneurs gathered together to discuss cooperation and look into the future.

In the event, delegates from countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Thailand conducted special promotions. Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Qingdao Guoxin Group also made special presentations.

As the ASEAN is Qingdao’s important economic and trade partners and constitutes a priority for Qingdao to expand high-level opening-up, Qingdao continues to ramp up efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation on key sectors, expand the two-way trade volume, and deepen exchanges on science and technology, education and cultural tourism in an effort to reap more tangible fruits of cooperation.
