In recent years, Qingdao airport in Shandong province has been continuously building a high-density connected transportation service system and focusing on the development of air express routes.

Currently, there are 114 domestic and international air routes linking Qingdao to the world, with 172 domestic passenger routes and 20 international and regional passenger routes. Within a three-hour flight, passengers can reach 90 percent of Chinese provincial capitals, major cities, Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, and South Korea.

In an attempt to become a global transportation hub, Qingdao airport has expedited the cultivation of express routes. The number of daily flights to cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Harbin, Xi'an, Wuhan, and Changsha has increased from 10 to 23. This year, the overall capacity of express flights has increased by 20 percent, with Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Wuhan experiencing a 30 percent increase in flight capacity.

In order to facilitate travel between emerging small and medium-sized tourist cities, Qingdao airport has further enhanced the coverage of its domestic route network. Since the beginning of this year, new routes have been opened to the country's third and fourth-tier cities.

As vacationing and leisure travel become increasingly popular among the public, in order to fully meet the diverse and personalized travel needs of passengers, Qingdao airport has collaborated with airlines to focus on developing distinctive routes such as Zunyi in Guizhou, Yibin in Sichuan, Ganzhou in Jiangxi, and Nanyang in Henan, which are expected to serve the development of regional economic cooperation.
