On May 1st, the Qingdao Bay Zhanqiao Pier wharf was officially put into use, the “Traveling around Qingdao by Marine Bus” No. 1 route, the first in China with Qingdao’s distinctive characteristics, went into operation on the same day. The route links up all wharves in the old urban area of Qingdao for the first time, making a new breakthrough in the landscape of marine tourism.

The Qingdao Bay Zhanqiao Pier construction project is among the major tasks in the three-year campaign to enhance the quality of tourism in Qingdao. Tourists can now try three products in the Qingdao Bay Zhanqiao Pier Wharf, namely, touring around Qingdao Bay, catching the sea wind on a motor boat, and “Traveling around Qingdao by Marine Bus” No. 1 route.

The “Traveling around Qingdao by Marine Bus” No. 1 route starts from the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, passes via the Qingdao Undersea World and Qingdao Bay Zhanqiao Pier Wharf, and terminates at the Badaxia Wharf. By taking the route, visitors can have a panoramic view of Qianhai in Qingdao. Qingdao Tourism Group Co., Ltd., Qingdao Metro Group Co., Ltd. and Qingdao Chengyun Holding Group Co., Ltd. have joined hands to create a novel model of transportation-tourism integration, which is never seen before in China. With the integration of transportation means by sea, land and rail, tourists can travel around Qingdao with a single ticket for bus, metro and pleasure boats.  (Ma Xiaoting)
