The Leading Maritime Cities of the World 2024, co-compiled by DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV) and Menon Economics, both Norway-based, was recently unveiled. According to the report, Qingdao’s ranking has elevated from the 30th in 2022 to the 28th now.

The report ranked the leading maritime cities of the world based on nearly 70 indicators across five pillar domains, namely, shipping, maritime finance and law, maritime technology, ports & logistics, and attractiveness & competitiveness. As indicated in the report, Qingdao performed splendidly in ports and logistics, and maritime technologies. It is noteworthy that Qingdao ranks third, fourth and seventh globally for the TEU in port, the Liner Shipping Connectivity Index and the Shipyards (CGT), respectively.  (Li Xunxiang)
