All flowers in late spring have fallen far and wide, but peach blossoms are full-blown on the mountainside.

Surrounded by Tiejue Mountain, Yuejie Mountain, and Shuiniu Mountain on three sides and with eight villages including Shanggou, Dunshang and Huangnixiang huddling together, the Qingdao Yangjia Shanli Demonstration Area for Rural Revitalization, characterized by a wild profusion of vegetation and natural fun, was recently packed with people and has emerged as a well sought-after travel destination for citizens and tourists in spring.

People enjoy strolling around Yangjia Shanli amid spring breeze, where ancient villages, water flowing beneath little bridges, cherry blossoms, willow twigs can refresh and gladden people’s heart and mind. On holidays or weekends, a number of citizens and tourists choose to visit the area to stay away from city noises and enjoy spring scenery. Many flowers such as azaleas and peach blossoms are now entering the full-bloom stage one after another. People can easily get intoxicated amid a dazzling array of flowers. Tulips, alpine azaleas and yuccas in the Wubifang Garden Scenic Area contend in beauty and fascination and throw a continuous stream of tourists into clear relief, constituting a harmonious picture between comely faces and enchanting peach blossoms.

With market fairs under cherry blossoms, Han costume shows, study trips and team building activities, recruitment of experience officers, Yangjia Shanli, where flowers are in bloom, draws an increasing number of tourists to admire flowers in spring days.

Yangjia Shanli appeals very much to city dwellers for its rustic fun. Many citizens and tourists choose to stay overnight after admiring flowers. Homestay hotel keepers are busy with tourist check-ins. Since the beginning of April, homestay hotels there are almost fully occupied every day.

In addition to Yangjia Shanli, more villages in Qingdao are making sustained efforts to build tourist destinations boasting natural scenery and nostalgic memories. (Wang Kai)
