Over the first quarter, Qingdao has held a wide range of exhibition activities, with a total exhibition area of 410,000 square meters. Exhibition events over the period concluded more than RMB 6 bln worthy of transactions and attracted the viewership of 680,000. With a year-on-year increase of 20% in revenue, the exhibition sector in Qingdao is burgeoning and continues on its upward track.

The Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Hongdao International Convention and Exhibition Center are expected to house nearly 100 exhibition events throughout the year, with a total exhibition area of more than 2.2 million square meters, an estimated revenue of nearly RMB 100 mln and better data in all respects than last year. The well sought after China Railway Qingdao World Expo City is expected to accommodate more than 230 exhibitions, conferences and other events in 2024, with a total exhibition area of more than 1.1 million square meters.

The continuous stream of convention and exhibition events will help Qingdao to invite flows of people, materials, information and capital and inject robust impetus to facilitate high-quality development in Qingdao.  (Liu Lanxing)
