The Qingdao Conference on High-quality Development of Service Industry recently concluded. According to the Qingdao Three-Year Action Plan on Expediting the Construction of a New High-quality and High-efficiency Service Industry System released in the conference, Qingdao will strive to generate in the service industry an added value of RMB 1.1 tln, representing around 60% of the city’s GDP, and see the establishment of a new high-quality and high-efficiency service industry system in the main in the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

According to the Plan, Qingdao will prioritize the development of nine producer service sectors, namely modern logistics, modern finance, modern commerce and trade, software and information services, science and technology services, convention and exhibition services, human resource services, inspection and testing and health, and cultural tourism with distinct characteristics, seek multipolar growth, coordinate efforts to promote digital, integrated, quality-oriented, green and international development and accelerate the construction of a new high-quality and high-efficiency service industry system.

Furthermore, ten measures have been rolled out to support the development of service industry, including support for the construction of key projects in the service industry, facilitating the growth of platform enterprises in the service industry and cultivation of producer service industry-leading enterprises. An additional RMB 50 mln in municipal financing will be secured.  (Yang Guang)
