The national tourism industry has been gaining momentum thanks to the new travel campaign started by Harbin in Heilongjiang province.

Thirteen children from Changchun, Jilin province recently went on a study tour to Shinan district, Qingdao. On Jan 28, the group, nicknamed the "Little Northeast China Tigers", visited the Zhenlu Navigation Museum.

The "Little Northeast China Tigers" represent the provinces in Northeast China and take the rare Northeast China Tiger as their mascot.

The century-old navigation museum was once the site of the Qingdao Coast Radio. It is now Qingdao's first navigation-themed museum, collecting, exhibiting and researching navigation-related items.

The museum has a collection of nearly 600 navigation-related artifacts, some dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Among the treasured displays are ancient maritime astronomical clocks, compasses, ship lamps and porcelain taken from a sunken ship.
