Two new berths at Qingdao Port's automated terminal were opened on Dec 20.

The new berths will enhance Qingdao Port's service capabilities.

Qingdao Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group, completed the construction of the two 100,000-metric-ton container berths in October.

The additional berths are part of efforts to turn the facility into a world-class, fully autonomous automated port.

The berths are expected to lay a good foundation for the subsequent expansion of the port route network, promote the integrated development of ports, industries and cities, and better serve the high-quality development of the regional economy, according to Shandong Port Group.
