From October 28 to October 30, a nearly 30-member delegation of Latin American youth, consisting of young diplomats stationed in China, scholars, journalists and overseas students from 16 Latin American and Caribbean countries including Brazil and Argentina, paid a friendly visit to Qingdao.

The visit to Qingdao is the first activity under the “Appointment with Youth” campaign launched by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed at strengthening people-to-people exchanges between China and Latin America and amplifying the positive effect of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. In the visit, a presentation on Qingdao was made to Latin American youths, and Qingdao’s exchanges and cooperation with Latin America in recent years was introduced from the perspective of people-to-people exchanges, business development and international cooperation. The delegation members were very responsive, eagerly voiced their opinions and sincerely hoped to deepen exchanges and cooperation between Qingdao and regions and countries in Latin America.

During their stay in Qingdao, the delegation members saw the cityscape of Qingdao and visited Qingdao-based enterprises including CRRC Qingdao Sifang and Hisense to gain a deeper knowledge of Qingdao’s social and economic development. (Xue Huafei)
