On October 24, the 2023 Qingdao Tour by International Friends was held, in which international friends were invited to travel around Qingdao and granted with certificates to pay tribute to and commend their outstanding contributions to Qingdao’s development and friendly ties with the outside world.

In the tour, international friends went to the Dagu River Museum to experience Qingdao’s historical and cultural heritage such as traditional paper cutting, and visited the Qingdao SCODA International Expo Center, where they gained insights into in-depth integrations and results of cooperation between the SCO member states and the countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Qingdao will continue to carry out the campaign to establish ties with international friends, and solidify and expand the network of international friends who help to make Qingdao’s voice better heard in the international community and rely on their firsthand experience to genuinely recognize that Qingdao in the new era is open-minded, inclusive, flourishing and self-assured. Meanwhile, Qingdao will further pursue development oriented by drivers, innovation, hubs and sharing, strive to build a new international cooperation platform under the Belt and Road Initiative and focuses on fostering market-oriented, law-based international first-class business environment, thus creating increasingly favorable conditions for international friends to work and live in Qingdao.  (Xue Huafei)
