The first Maple Leaf Festival of Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) commenced on Oct 21 at the Red Maple Forest Park in Zhangjialou sub-district.

Running until Nov 5, the festival offers a variety of attractions, such as tourist trains, camping sites, cultural and creative markets, exhibitions of specialty agricultural products, and farmer's markets. Visitors can also enjoy local snacks and children's entertainment just outside the park.

Zhangjialou sub-district has also released a tourist map that includes 16 destinations such as characteristic parks, cultural experience areas, ecological picking areas and outdoor camping.

The Zhangjialou Red Maple Forest Park covers an area of over 66.67 hectares and boasts over 6,000 red maple trees, with the best viewing period being in late October each year.

The park can be accessed by taking Metro Line 13 to Zhangjialou Station. After the metro ride, visitors have the option of using shared electric bikes to finish the journey.
