Another cheering news for Shandong Port Group came on December 3 that its cargo throughput has so far hit 1,510mt, surpassing last years total throughput when 28 days remained before 2022 concludes following its container throughput exceeded last years total number 34 days in advance.

In regard to ocean transportation, since the beginning of this year, Shandong Port Group has focused on seaborne containers, actively engaged with shipping companies and leveraged its role as a hub platform and its strength in the density of shipping lines. In collaboration with 11 famous shipping companies at home and abroad, including CMA CGM, MSC, PIL and Zhonggu Shipping, the group launched as many as 7 new international routes merely in July, namely 5 direct routes to Southeastern Asian countries under the Belt and Road Initiative or the RCEP and 2 oceangoing routes to North and South America. From January to November this year, the group has seen 35 additional container routes and boasted a total of over 320 routes. In regard to land transportation, the group has coordinated efforts with customs, railways and shipping companies to refine the comprehensive logistics network. To be specific, it has cumulatively put 5 land ports into operation, increasing the total number to 31, and launched 5 new freight trains, changing the total number of freight trains in sea-railway combined transportation to 81.  (Zhou Xiaofeng)
